ABOUT US

 

The Health and HIV Implementation Services Provider (HHISP), an Australian Government AusAID initiative, supports the implementation of the Health and HIV Program on behalf of AusAID and the Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The HHISP’s overarching objectives are to improve maternal and child health outcomes and to deliver increased health and HIV services to the rural majority and high risk populations in support of the Partnership for Development Outcomes. The HHISP commenced operations in April 2012 and provides technical assistance, research and grant management support to the Health and HIV sector across PNG. The HHISP is located in Port Moresby and is managed by JTA International who has been providing excellence in supporting people to safely and securely live and work in PNG for over 10 years.

 

ABOUT PAPUA NEW GUINEA

 

With a population of over seven million, Papua New Guinea is located 160km to the north of Australia, just over an hours’ flight from Cairns, and is supported by international airports providing frequent daily flights to Australia, Singapore and other destinations across Asia Pacific Comprising of 600 islands, atolls and coral reefs with more than 800 indigenous languages spoken, PNG is home to the largest area of intact rainforest outside of the Amazon. Vast tracts of the country remain wild and undeveloped, with magnificent scenery that ranges from pristine coral atolls to volcanic mountains, dense tropical rainforest and large rivers. PNG enjoys some of the world’s best diving, snorkelling and fishing around its warm coastal waters, with striking coral reefs around the mainland coast and the islands. Activities also include hiking, the Kokoda Track, and cultural festivals across the provinces and islands of PNG.

 

ABOUT THE ROLES AND CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

The HHISP has a number of long-term roles available, which are located throughout PNG, and in addition to this, is seeking expressions of interest for forthcoming short-term roles. Attractive competitive remuneration packages are available comprising of salary, allowances, accommodation and transport in accordance with the AusAID Adviser Remuneration Framework. 1. LONG TERM ADVISER ROLES
(up to two year contracts – closing date 10am, 09/07/12 AEST)

1. Finance and Audit Adviser

 

2. Public Health Management Adviser

 

3. PHA Implementation Adviser

 

Located in Daru, Western Province, PNG:

 

4. Western Provincial Health Adviser

 

Located at the Provincial Health Authority, Western Highlands, PNG:

 

5. Technical Adviser, Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority

 

2. SHORT TERM ADVISER ROLE
(two month contract – closing date 10am, 09/07/12 AEST)

 

Located at the National Department of Health (NDoH), Port Moresby, PNG:

3. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR SHORT TERM ADVISORY ROLES
(up to six month contracts – closing date 4pm, 30/07/12 AEST)

 

The HHISP is looking for experienced health professionals to register their interest in short term PNG based advisory positions. Working throughout PNG on capacity diagnostic and other missions for the NDoH in the Provincial Health Authorities or supporting other Health Sector Organisations, your experience will contribute in helping to achieve better health outcomes for Papua New Guineans. We are seeking expressions of interest from a wide range of health professionals with specialities including:

 

• Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists

 

• Planning and Design Specialists

 

• Procurement and Logistics Specialists

 

• Finance, Budgeting and Audit Specialists

 

• Health Systems Specialists

 

• Health Economics Specialists

 

• Human Resources Specialists

 

• Project Management Experts
