Duties: | Under the direct supervision of the Housing Coordinator, the incumbent provides clerical and administrative support in the management of leased residential and non-residential properties for all agencies in the Embassy including State, CDC, DOD and USAID. |
Qualifications and Evaluations
Education: Completion of two years college/university in general studies is required.
Requirements:
Prior Work Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in office management or administrative work is required.
Post Entry Training: Good working knowledge of USG leasing regulations and property management. Must have a good knowledge of local commercial and real estate markets and capabilities of local vendors. Must understand local commercial and real estate pricing customs and practices. Ability to use Microsoft Office platform.
On the job training in WebPass, eServices and ILMS Ariba is required. Dept. of State ethics and customer service training. Procedural training is provided in-house/FSI as it is directly tailored to USG operating systems and regulations.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: A good working knowledge of Department of State and associated agency housing regulations, instructions and procedures as set forth in 15 FAM. Incumbent must be familiar with the Addis Ababa housing market and rental prices. A good understanding of USG housing practice and policies is essential to performing the job. The ability to coordinate incoming personnel’s needs with existing property or the need to acquire new property. It is in the best interest of the USG for the incumbent to minimize rental turnovers or the need to move personnel mid-tour, both in terms of financial stress on the Embassy or agency, and a quality of life issue for the occupant to not have to move mid-tour. FEDBIDOPS when required. Incumbent must work closely with the GSO warehouse and the Embassy’s financial management section to make sure leases are funded properly.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: English Level 3 (good working knowledge, reading/speaking/writing); Amharic Level 4 (fluency, reading/speaking/writing) is required. (English Language will be tested)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Using personal computer applications such as the MicroSoft Office Suite, good working knowledge of searching on the Internet/Intranet, knowledge of various online housing sites; Outlook, typing and calculator. Excellent negotiation skills. Ability to use tact and judgment when dealing with colleagues and suppliers. Display excellent customer service advocacy. The position requires Class 2 Ethiopian driver’s license. (This may be tested)
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
