GHK Consulting Ltd., has recently been shortlisted for a World Bank Project on ‘Developing a National Slum Upgrading Strategy for the Philippines: Consulting Services for Project Implementation.’ We are looking for local consultants who can fill in the following positions:
1. Social Development Specialist
– Minimum 8 years experience in assignments dealing with informal communities both at the policy and field implementation levels
– Ability to prepare social impact analysis and provide guidance to the conduct of small area surveys
– Academic degree in Social sciences or in any related discipline
2. Infrastructure Specialist
– Minimum 8 years experience in preparing cost estimates and design options for infrastructures and facilities for informal communities and related projects
– Working knowledge of national and international standards in the design and implementation or related infrastructure and services
– Academic degree in civil engineerin
3. Monitoring and Evaluation (ME) Specialist
– Minimum 8 years in developing and managing project ME systems, results management frameworks, and targets and performance indicators for development oriented interventions and similar projects
– Working knowledge of current project management and ME tools and systems applicable to the project
– Academic degree in Social sciences or in any related discipline
4. Management and Information System (MIS) Specialist
– Minimum 8 years in developing and operating MIS systems, websites, and database for development oriented interventions and similar projects
– Experience in designing and implementing web-based learning modules such as video streaming and online conferences, among others
– Academic degree in Social sciences or in any related discipline
5. Capacity development Specialist
– Minimum 8 years in developing and implementing knowledge sharing, technology transfer and capacity development programs for informal communities, government, and nongovernment institutions, private sector and civil society groups
– Experience in utilizing current technology in the design and operation of capacity development programs, such as web-based learning modules, video streaming, and online conferences
– Academic degree in Social sciences or in any related discipline
6. Communications Specialist
– Minimum 8 years in developing and implementing communications plan for similar of related projects for informal communities, government, and nongovernment institutions, private sector and civil society groups
– Academic degree in Social sciences or in any related discipline
7. Social Survey Team
– Composed of a team of individuals with the appropriate discipline with at least 3 years experience in designing, conducting, and processing small area surveys of informal communities and related samples.
– Academic degree in Social sciences or in any related discipline
All national consultants should have the following minimum qualifications:
- Operational knowledge of local and international issues confronting local slum communities, national and local government policies, programs and thrusts on slum upgrading and shelter provision, as well as those by non-government institutions.
- Familiarity with current local and international issues relations to informal sector development, urban growth and development, and related subjects.
- Proven ability to engage informal communities and a varied set of stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
