Temporary Programme Coordinator – Building Skills for Life (£36,995)
Please note that this role is a fixed term maternity cover for one year.
As the Programme Coordinator, you’ll manage the delivery of Plan’s ‘Building Skills for Life’ programme, which is focused on empowering adolescent girls through work on education, sexual and reproductive health, economic security and protection from violence. Your work will include establishing clear contractual arrangements between Plan UK and Plan Country Offices and coordinating technical and project cycle management support to country offices.
You’ll also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships between Country and Regional offices and Plan UK staff, including technical advisors and programme officers. You’ll work with colleagues to ensure the effective use of learning from programme monitoring and evaluation, in turn strengthening programme delivery and informing wider practice.
You need to have extensive programme management experience, with responsibility for large budgets. We’re looking for someone who has not only worked in developing countries, but also managed large and complex projects, preferably across several countries. You need to prove that you will become familiar, in a short space of time, with effective programming and good practice across different sectors, in relation to the empowerment of adolescent girls. You must also have knowledge of child-centred community development approaches, and demonstrate an awareness of child protection issues.
